What platy24 does, and does not do

It is a calculator for a shared bill. It records what was bought, who had what, and who paid, and works out the smallest set of payments that squares everybody up.

It does not move money. No payment passes through platy24, and marking a transfer as paid records that you say it happened — nothing more. Settling up between yourselves is entirely between yourselves.

No account, and what that costs you

You can use platy24 without signing up. In exchange, your tabs live in your browser: clearing your site data loses access to any tab whose code you have not kept, and nobody can restore it for you, because there is nothing tying it to you to check against.

Signing in with Google is the fix, and it is optional.

Tabs are shared, and trust-based

Anybody with a tab's code — and its password, if it has one — can join it. Once in, every member can add, edit and delete any expense, claim items for anybody, and remove people who were added by name.

This is deliberate: it is how a table works. It also means a tab is only as private and only as accurate as the people you shared the code with. Share it accordingly.

Check the AI's work

Scanning a receipt and typing an order into the chat box both produce a draft, shown to you for review before anything is saved. They are drafts because models misread prices, miss lines and invent them.

You are responsible for what you confirm. platy24 is not responsible for a bill split wrongly because a misread line was saved without being checked.

What you put in

You are responsible for the content of your tabs, including the names you type and the receipts you photograph. Do not use platy24 for anything unlawful, and do not upload other people's personal information beyond what splitting a bill actually needs.

Automated use, attempts to reach tabs you were not given the code to, and anything aimed at degrading the service for other people are all out of bounds.

As-is

platy24 is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. It may change, break, or stop being available, with or without notice, and tabs may be removed along with it.

To the fullest extent the law allows, platy24 is not liable for any loss arising from using it — including a bill split incorrectly, a tab lost, or a tab reached by somebody you gave the code to.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the date at the top of this page changes with them. Continuing to use platy24 after that means the new terms apply.
